  • 500g firm white fish fillets, cut into chunks
  • 2 tablespoons curry powder
  • 1 tablespoon geera (cumin seeds)
  • 1 teaspoon masala
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 1 teaspoon 
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish


  • In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion, garlic, and grated ginger. Sauté until onions are translucent.
  • Sprinkle curry powder, geera, and masala over the onion mixture, stirring continuously for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add diced tomatoes to the skillet and cook for another 2-3 minutes until softened.
  • Pour in coconut milk and vegetable broth. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  • Carefully add fish chunks to the simmering curry. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes until fish is cooked through and tender. Some folks also deep-fry their fish before adding it to curry sauce.
  • Once cooked, garnish with fresh cilantro. Serve hot with steamed rice or roti.
